Affordable Housing
Offering affordable housing options for rent-to-earn or live-to-earn for low-income people
What is this tier?
This is a groundbreaking housing model designed to empower residents through active community participation. It offers 2 bedroom to 4 bedroom houses at a base rent of $300 per month, with the unique opportunity for residents to reduce their rent to $0 by contributing time and skills to the AdvitCare Housing community. This "Live-to-Earn" system allows residents to earn "Rent Credits" for every hour of approved community work, such as property maintenance, landscaping, organizing community events, tutoring younger residents, or providing administrative support. The goal is to foster a self-sustaining, vibrant community where residents are not just tenants, but active partners in creating a great place to live.
Who is it for?
This program is ideal for individuals and couples with very limited or fluctuating incomes who are able and eager to contribute their time and skills. It is perfect for:
Students, artists, or freelance workers with flexible schedules.
Individuals who are temporarily unemployed or underemployed but wish to remain active and engaged.
Retirees or semi-retired individuals on a fixed income looking for a strong sense of community and purpose.
Anyone seeking to build their resume and skills through hands-on work while securing stable housing.
Qualifications for this tier?
Eligibility is based on both financial need and a commitment to active participation.
Community Contribution Agreement: Applicants must demonstrate a clear interest and ability to contribute. They must be willing to sign a Community Contribution Agreement, committing to a minimum of 10-15 hours of approved work per month.
Skills and Interest Assessment: Applicants will participate in an informal interview to discuss their skills, interests, and how they envision contributing to the community.
Background Check: All applicants must consent to a standard criminal and mental background check.
Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have eligible immigration status.
How to Apply?
The application process is more comprehensive to ensure a good fit for this unique community model.
Attend an Information Session: All prospective applicants are required to first attend a virtual or in-person information session that explains the "Live-to-Earn" model in detail.
Submit an Application and "Statement of Interest": Following the info session, interested parties can submit a standard application along with a short "Statement of Interest" (1-2 paragraphs) explaining why they are interested in this model and how they hope to contribute.
Community Interview: Promising applicants will be invited for a friendly interview with an AdvitCare community manager and one current resident from the program. This is a two-way conversation to ensure the program is the right fit for the applicant.
Verification and Onboarding: If selected, applicants will proceed to the final step of submitting documents for income and identity verification before being onboarded into the community.
